Who we are
Local knowledge is a technical advantage.
Software built somewhere else tends to assume conditions that do not hold here. It assumes freight arrives on schedule, that bandwidth is never a constraint, that a business day looks the same in February as it does in September, and that ship calls are somebody else’s problem.
We build from inside those conditions. That means systems that stay usable on a phone with two bars, booking rules that understand a seasonal operation, and reporting that reflects how territory businesses actually measure a good day.
It also means we are not limited by them. The systems we build are ordinary modern software: they run anywhere, scale beyond the territory, and belong to the client who paid for them.

Understand before building
Discovery is not a formality. We follow a job end to end before proposing anything, because the interesting problems are rarely the ones described in the first meeting.
Build the smallest useful system
Scope grows on its own. We push back on features that do not earn their maintenance cost, and ship the version that changes the work.
Hand over real ownership
Code, data, accounts and documentation belong to the client. No lock-in, no hostage-taking, no surprises if you take the system elsewhere.
Stay after launch
Software that is not maintained quietly decays. We stay involved so the system keeps pace with the organization it serves.
Technology
Boring where it counts.
We choose technology for longevity, not novelty. Most Naya systems are built on well-supported server languages, relational databases and standards-based front ends, hosted where the client can see and control them.
Where a hosted service does a job better than anything we would build, we use it: payment processing, transactional email, messaging, mapping, storage and increasingly language models for the narrow tasks they genuinely improve.
What we avoid is architecture that only one person can maintain. The measure of a good system here is whether another competent developer could pick it up in a week.
